Our story
Why prepayment, and why these lines
Trestl was founded in 2025 in Philadelphia by an actuary with a background in claims analysis for voluntary products. The pattern was familiar: payment errors in Hospital Indemnity, Accident, and Critical Illness are usually small, specific, and preventable, and most of the industry looks for them only after the money has gone.
Payment integrity tools grew up around major medical, where the claim is a bill to be priced. Fixed-benefit lines work differently: the plan schedule, the limits, the waiting periods, and the recurrence rules are the whole answer. Trestl starts from that plan logic.
The name
A trestle carries the load so the bridge can do its work
A trestle is the rigid framework of beams that supports a bridge. Our mark is drawn from the arches of the Manayunk Bridge in Philadelphia: a structure built to carry weight reliably, every day, without drawing attention to itself. That is the job we want to do for claims.
